John Christiano to Present at Plastics Extrusion World Expo 2019
Davis-Standard’s John Christiano, Vice President of Extrusion Technology, will speak about the latest trends in extruder instrumentation on the afternoon of May 9, during the Plastics World Extrusion Expo in Cleveland, in the film and sheet theatre. In addition to Christiano’s presentation, Davis-Standard and Maillefer will exhibit at booth C429.
Christiano’s presentation is entitled, “Instrumenting Your Extruder for the Industrial Internet of Things, IIoT, with a Focus on Predictive and Preventative Maintenance.” He will focus on how Davis-Standard is making machine level improvements in terms of extruder instrumentation and diagnostic algorithms to support predictive and preventative maintenance. Digital trends in control system instrumentation, communication, data collection and monitoring will be reviewed. Christiano will highlight two examples showing how existing and additional instrumentation along with newly developed algorithms can be used to identify electrical and mechanical issues in specific extruder components.
