In this exhibitor interview we caught up with Bradley Lucas, Business Operations Manager at Lucas I&E.
Lucas I&E offers trade agent services to connect customers with a PET supplier that is certified by the Global Recycle Standard for their manufacturing needs. The organization's job is to make sure customers get the high quality product they need from a reputable supplier that delivers on time.
What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?
We are a family business and treat our customers like family. When a call is made to us, a person answers the phone. Lucas I&E has a Director of International Relations that is in constant contact with the supplier so that any questions or concerns are answered quickly and efficiently.
Are there any new technology developments that your company is working on at the moment?
Lucas I&E is looking to add additional services with continued education and licensure on customs brokerage. Lucas I&E aims to not only assist in helping you secure a good business relationship with the supplier, but also help you from start to finish with the entire importing/exporting process.
What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today and how can this be overcome?
Virgin polyester will always be the biggest challenge. As an industry, we have to be innovative in being able to produce recycled polyester at a price that is competitive with it’s virgin counterpart so that a company is more willing to make the transition.
How do you see the sector developing in the next five to ten years?
I see the need for recycled polyester to grow substantially. Companies are becoming more conscious about the environment and that it is in our world’s best interest to reuse polyester versus creating it. The economy is opening back up and with that comes new opportunities. Recycled polyester has multiple purposes for everyday life. It’s flexibility for use in different types of products will keep the demand coming.
What are you most looking forward to at this years’ show?
I am looking forward to meeting others who have the same passion about making the world a better place. I am excited to see how far we have come in regards to recycled materials. I can’t wait to learn about the other exhibitors and to share my company’s ambition in helping the world go green with those that are visiting the expo.
